Voila

Elements:

-2 spoonfuls of Penzy's high fat cocoa (about a tablespoon for those who are committed to measuring things)
-about half of a mugful of water
-about half of a mugful of your favorite type of milk--soy, hemp, almond, cow (whatever the kids are doing these days)
-dash of vanilla extract
-whipped cream (optional)

The Task:

Google “Penzy’s” or click here.  It’s a fancy shmancy spice store. Order the high fat cocoa.  They recommend the Dutch Process for hot chocolate but I like both the Dutch Process and the natural so go with whatever sounds appealing. Yes, it’s pricey. Yes, they have cocoa at your local store, but they don’t have this heavenly substance. Ok, a week later when it arrives, fill a mug with about half water and half milk. Microwave until hot. Spoon in your newly delivered prize, throw in a dash of vanilla extract, squirt on the whipped cream and prepare to be amazed. This stuff is so rich and delectable it will ruin you for all other hot chocolates. Since no sweetener is added per the recommendations above, it’s not that sweet but the depth of the creamy cocoa flavor will knock you down and rub you with scented oil. If you’re still begging for more though, feel free to throw in some agave or other sweetener of the moment.

The Skinny:

A mugful using skimmed old fashioned cow milk with some whipped topping clocks in at about 75 calories, 3 grams of fat, 6 grams of protein and 11 grams of carbs (7 grams of sugar). My personal favorite is with almond milk which will cut the calorie count a bit.
